Jared and Marissa’s story began many years before they fell in love. Their paths originally crossed in the eight grade, when they played on the same soccer team.
After living their separate lives, they ended up meeting each other, by chance, as adults, when Marissa went to return a broken shower head to a store where Jared was working. Unhappy, she demanded to speak to the manager…. and out walked Jared. As she tried to make her dissatisfaction known, Jared kept saying, “I know you from somewhere.” She left the store annoyed but with a new shower head and Jared’s phone number. When she got home she saw the photo of her childhood soccer team and it all came back to her. A relationship was forged, a story of second chances as these two lives were once again connected and would eventually come together in marriage.
Their wedding day was homegrown, honest, and intimate. After Jared and his son got ready in their Providence home, the couple held a beautiful ceremony on the iron footbridge at Roger Williams Park with their closest family and friends. The group went to celebrate at a burger bar in Federal Hill with an ice cream truck visit for dessert, and the night ended with live music and dancing at a nearby cafe, all places they had visited on their first date.
Every piece of the day felt true, like a homecoming for the couple. And toward the end of the night, when Jared and Marissa shared an emotional first dance, we felt humbled and honored to bear witness to their openness and vulnerability.
